Education

Part of our vision is to create a sustainable farming system in a wildlife haven which we can share with others. We welcome school groups, universities, clubs and societies to the farm by prior arrangement.

Our aim is to demonstrate the link between food, farming and the environment, bringing visiting groups closer to their natural surroundings. Educational visits can be based around interests or curriculum. Children under 16 can visit free of charge, for all other groups please email or telephone for details.

Activities include:

  • Pond dipping in the river

  • Tree planting

  • Bird watching from the observation hides

  • Farm trail; taking in the rarebreed Belted Galloway cattle, biomass boiler, river bank restoration etc.

When planning transport to get to Nethergill by coach please read the Group Organisers' and Coach Drivers' Guide to the Yorkshire Dales. Please note our access is limited to 30 seater coaches.
