FAQs

PAYMENT & CANCELLATION POLICY

How do I secure my booking?

Full payment for your stay is required on booking.

What is your cancellation policy?

We offer a 48-hour cooling off period so for cancellations within 48 hours of booking, you will receive a full refund.

For cancellations more than 14 days prior to arrival, you will receive a 50% refund. For cancellations 14 days of less of arrival, unfortunately, we are unable to offer a refund.

What happens if we have to cancel due to Covid-19?

If a member of your party is unable to travel due to catching Covid, our standard cancellation policy applies. However, we do sympathise with the situation and would offer those affected by Covid the opportunity to postpone their booking to a later date at no extra cost, providing we are informed prior to the date of arrival.

WILD CAMPING

Can I bring my own tent?

Wild camping is available for walkers (no cars) at £5 per tent plus £5 per person per night (to prevent ‘10 clowns in a car’ syndrome). We also welcome Duke of Edinburgh Award. Please email to book.

The following facilities are available at our Nature Barn:

  • Tea, coffee and soft drinks are available with honesty payment box.

  • Microwave and washing up facilities.

  • Toilet facilities (no shower).

  • Free Wi-Fi (no password).

  • Mindful Chef healthy frozen meals are available for purchase - £7 per meal.

BOOKINGS

Can my holiday start on a day other than the designated changeover day?

During the busy Summer months (from mid June to early September), we can only accommodate check-in on Fridays with a minimum stay of 1 week.

At any other time, we also offer instant booking for weekend stays (Friday - Monday) and mid week stays (Monday - Friday). If you would like to start your holiday on a day other than Monday or Friday, please contact us and we shall do our very best to accommodate your request. All breaks are for minimum 3 nights.

Are dogs allowed?

One dog is allowed to stay in the Hayloft with prior notice for an additional £20 cleaning charge per stay. Please do not leave dogs unattended in the cottage and please them off soft furnishings. Please ensure they are kept on a lead around the farm as we have very free-range chickens and livestock. Your dog is welcome to explore our land and swim in our streams at your own risk.

CHECK IN & CHECK OUT POLICY

What time can we check-in and check-out?

On changeover days, standard check-in is from 5pm. If you would like to check-in before 5pm, please contact us. Providing the Hayloft has not been vacated earlier that day, we may be able to make an allowance for you.

On your day of departure, we request check-out by 9am. If you would like to check-out after 9am, please let us know. Providing the Hayloft is not expecting guests later that day, we may be able to extend check-out by an hour or so.

When will I receive information about the property?

Two weeks prior to your arrival, we shall email you a welcome pack of information for you to assist with your planning ahead of your stay.

What happens on arrival?

For peace of mind we have a contactless arrival policy. There is a key safe installed by the front door of your property. Please input the 4-digit code (you will receive this via email the day before your arrival) and pull-down release lever to left of numbers to obtain your keys.

FACILITIES

Is Broadband/Wifi available?

High speed Wifi is available in both Haylofts and our Nature Barn for walkers and campers. Despite our remote location, it is usually very reliable.

Do I have use of a telephone at the property?

Given our remote location, it is no surprise that there is no mobile phone signal at the farm. There are a variety of apps that you can use to make phone calls over the internet e.g. WhatsApp. Alternatively in the case of emergency, there is a landline at the farmhouse which you may use.

Can I charge my electric vehicle at the property?

There is an electric car charger at the back of the farmhouse which is compatible for some vehicles. Alternatively, you can charge your car from your cottage. You are welcome to charge your car during your stay for an additional charge of £5 per night.

Can I organise a supermarket food delivery to Nethergill?

Tesco, Morrisons and Sainsburys do deliver here and we are happy to take in food delivery for you if you wish.

EVENTS

Do you allow for location filming and photo shoots?

We love to share our wildlife haven with others and, providing it is not negatively impacted in the process, will consider location filming and photo shoots on a case by case basis. Please contact us to discuss further.
