Directions to Nethergill Farm

Please note no mobile phone coverage after Kettlewell.

Please park on the right just inside the drive - Visitor parking and come through the blue side gate to the front door.

From the west and M6:

Enter Hawes on the A684 from Sedbergh and look out for right sign to Wensleydale Creamery and just after the petrol station, turn right towards Gayle, past the Creamery.

From east and A1:

Enter Hawes on the A684 from Bedale, Leyburn and Bainbridge. Just as you begin to leave Hawes look out for left sign to Wensleydale Creamery. Just before the petrol station on left, turn left towards Gayle.

From Hawes:

Head towards Gayle (about ½ mile) then left bend, over the bridge and then sharp right with houses on the left. Follow this road for about 5 miles.

Landmarks in order include: Very narrow constriction between house & farm buildings - drive up a steep incline along left side of valley - blind summit, followed by left bend after a couple of minutes. Don't go towards Cam Houses - up short steep hill followed by right bend; you are now at 2000ft - Wend your way down the hill. At the bottom, just before the village of Oughtershaw, on the right is a Victorian stone commemorative pillar, take the farm track on right immediately after this, over the cattle grid. There is a stone set into a dry stone wall marked with Nethergill Farm - Nethergill Farm is the first farm on the right three quarters of a mile up this track - NB. There is no mobile phone coverage after the view point - sorry!

From south

Head North from A59 Skipton bypass on the B6265 towards Grassington, through Cracoe and Threshfield. Where B6265 turns right towards Grassington carry straight on the B6160 towards Buckden (through Kettlewell and Starbotton). In Buckden, on the edge of the village green take left fork to Hubberholme. Continue towards Hawes, over cattle grid at Yockenthwaite, cross over the iron bridge at Deepdale. Keep on this road, drive up the hill then down through Oughtershaw. Just through Oughtershaw take the left fork up a farm track over a cattle grid, our stone sign is displayed to the right of the grid- Nethergill is the first farm on right, about three quarters of a mile up the track.

NB. Very occasionally there will be a sign indicating the road from Buckden to Hubberhome is cut off by floods, if so, please carry straight on through Buckden towards Cray and take the first left down a single track road. Turn right at the bottom of the hill then over the bridge, opposite The George Inn turn right again to re-join the original road
