Summer Meadow Campsite

Open 03 July - 31 August 2026

At the top of Langstrothdale, where the wind carries curlew calls and the light moves like soft silk across the hills, a new campsite is slowly taking shape at Nethergill Farm.

This July, we’ll open the gate for the first time and welcome summer campers into this quiet, upland world. Take a break from the stresses of ordinary life and connect with nature and the world around you; enjoy the warmth of the rising sun, the freshness of the winds or the soothing sound of raindrops on your canvas or one of our bell tents.

Camping the Nethergill Way

Let us set the scene:

As the sun drops behind the ridge, the valley settles into a deep, old quiet. The sky darkens into a bowl of stars. The fire crackles. And the world feels simple again. It’s quiet without being remote. Wild without being harsh. Beautiful without it being curated.

Our summer meadow campsite is a continuation of this landscape; a way for people to stay inside the valley rather than just pass through it. Everything we do is shaped by the same principles that guide the rest of the farm: light touch, low impact, and deep respect for the land.

This is camping the Nethergill way. The kind of camping that leaves you softer than when you arrived.

The Making of the Meadow

Right now, the campsite is in that beautiful in‑between stage – a place not yet finished but full of promise. The stone walls are being rebuilt. Sheep are grazing the grass into summer softness. A tractor is cutting the meadow in long, slow sweeps. The paths are being walked into existence as the first outlines of pitches emerge. Wildlife keeps moving through as it always has.
