The Story So Far...

Chris and Fiona moved into Nethergill Farm in November 2005. Keen naturalists and trained agriculturalists they previously farmed free-range outdoor pigs. In 1990 they sold the farming enterprise and set up an agricultural marketing and graphic design business. They are now continuing to run their existing business as well as developing Nethergill Farm as a unique haven for people to come and enjoy and learn about the natural environment.

Bed and Breakfast

Already providing Bed and Breakfast accommodation in the Yorkshire Dales from June 2007 at Nethergill, further bedrooms will be ready by Spring 2008.

Wildlife Enhancement

To further enhance the wildlife across the farm, an area of 30 acres has been allocated to planting a mixed species woodland totalling 17,500 trees starting September 2007.  For more information see 'latest news'

Future Plans

Plans include the sale of traditional lamb and beef direct to butchers, micro-hydro power to generate electricity for the farm, rotational coppicing, renovation of the traditional meadows and extensive tree planting across the farm.

Painting

Fiona is a keen painter and inspired by the unique atmosphere of the Dales produces unusual work in mixed media including paper and wool. Recently winning the Pro-Arte competition run by Craven District she is enjoying producing commissions for both locals and visitors to the Dales.
